How fast does ISS move?

ISS circles the Earth at a speed of some 8 kilometers per second. In the sky, it appears to move about as fast as an aeroplane. A single ISS pass usually lasts a few minutes.

It must go round the earth a few times in a day at that speed...
I would expect to see it flashing by all the time!

It is! Well sometimes a bit more or a bit less, like 7,7 or 7,8 k/h. That speed is needed to keep it circling the earth.

G'day 8 Kilometers per second = 28800 kilometers per hour! is that its actual speed?
